The Fiz Brown favourite has admitted that her biggest fear is leaving her son Albert however it was her father Tom McAlpine that gave her a push.
Speaking ahead of the launch on Sunday, the 33-year-old said it was her dad’s death that convinced her to sign up while also opening up about her little boy, two.
“I lost my dad earlier this year and that was a big thing,” Jennie commented. “But I knew he would have told me to do it.”
The actress, who married partner Chris Farr in January, said that the mental health campaigner “always encouraged me”.

Jennie continued: “He kept saying ‘Give it a go to find out if you are good enough or not’. And so that was a big part of it.”
Meanwhile, the soap star said her biggest consideration prior to her three week stint in the Australian jungle was Albert.
On what she would miss most, Jennie revealed that it was the youngster alongside her home, kettle, TV and sofa that would be hard to say bye to.

“I had to really think about this because the biggest thing is leaving my little boy. Even the thought of it beforehand made me shudder,” she said.
Jennie added: “It’s going to be his birthday whilst I am in the jungle and I spend all my time with him when I am not working on Corrie. Leaving Albert when I first go into the camp will be my trial… It really will.
“I know Albert is going to have an amazing experience as he is coming to Australia with my husband and I. That will be lovely.”
