Pete Barton (played by Anthony Quinlan) has been on the hunt for his mother Emma Barton’s (Gillian Kearney) killer since it was revealed by the police that she had been pushed to her death.
And in upcoming scenes, his mission to seek justice intensifies as he becomes suspicious of Adam (Adam Thomas) after he discovers some ground-breaking news.
In next week’s episodes, Victoria Barton (Isobel Hodgins) is stressed as Adam is late for an adoption meeting.
In order to speed up the process, she asks Pete to go and collect her stranded husband.

When Pete finds him, he begins to grow suspicious as Adam says his tyres were recently changed and confronts him.
Adam becomes increasingly angry which results in Pete sharing this information with his brother Ross (Michael Parr) and the police.

Adam Thomas, who plays the fan-favourite character, told Digital Spy: "Adam knows he's got a pretty dodgy track record and a terrible alibi. He ran after Emma into the woods with a gun.

“Even his wife Victoria has doubts over whether Adam has done it. Adam is really worried and is trying to get people like Moira to cover for him. He's been dug out of a few scrapes before.
"Adam is so protective of his mother, he will have taken what happened really badly. Plus, he feels aggrieved that because Emma killed his dad, he never got the time to get to know him. Adam was taking it slowly regarding building bridges with his dad, but Emma denied him that."
