The ex-teacher has struggled to rise to the top in Channel 4’s hugely popular series so far, and even scraped through one technical challenge after she accidentally left inedible paper inside her cake.
Tonight, the mother-of-three was awarded the title of star baker for her showstopper but, before that, encountered a risky moment when she accidentally broke her oven door off its hinges.
Desperate to maintain her place in the semi-final as time ran out, she exclaimed: “Right let’s have a look at this cake - not far off.”
But in the frenzy, the baker slammed the door too hard and it fell off in her hands.

I just broke the oven. Sh*t
“I just broke the oven. Sh*t,” she blurted in alarm, before continuing: “The door’s come off - I’m panicking.”
While fellow contestant Steven Carter-Bailey tried to help the struggling cook with her disaster, Stacey was determined to fix the problem on her own.
“Do you want to share mine at 150?” Steven called, as Stacey replied: “No no no you carry on. It’s all right I’ll just hold it like this - could do with maybe a minute or two longer.”
“Hopefully it won’t deflate,” she added while perched up next to her oven on the floor.
