Emmerdale fans SHOCKED by potty-mouthed pre-watershed rant - but what did they hear?
EMMERDALE fans were left horrified after mistakenly hearing swearwords on the ITV soap.
Emmerdale: Doug asks Liv if she knows what 'chitting' means
The pre-watershed family show broadcast what appeared to be Doug Potts (played by Duncan Preston) swearing, but all was not as it seemed.
In a scene where the character was talking about potatoes and gardening, Doug was punishing Gerry Roberts (Shaun Thomas) and Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) with some manual labour.
Doug told Liv: “There's a toilet blocked in room three. Gerry will point you towards the plunger.”
Liv then asked: “I thought I was out here?” as fans paused in horror as Doug asked a dubious question.

Did he say 's****** and dibbing?
He asked: “Do you know the difference between chitting and dibbing?” as Liv replied: “No.”
Doug added: “In that case there’s been a job swap. No point in wasting his green fingers down a U-bend is there Dianne?”
However, viewers were left rewinding the show in disbelief believing that Doug had said the word “Sh****ng”.
Fans instantly took to social media to ask: “Wait, is Doug saying ’s******?’”
