Debbie McGee: Paul would have thought Strictly kiss was showbiz
The 58-year-old grabbed her Strictly Come Dancing teammate and pulled him in close, before kissing him after their seriously steamy display on the dance floor.
Now, the magician’s assistant has opened up about the embrace and revealed that her late husband Paul Daniels would have been “happy” with her performance.
“He would have loved it!” Debbie told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on today’s edition of This Morning.
“The fact that I have caused - or seem to have caused - this furore with the kiss on Saturday night... He just loved the show business, that was real show business.”

She continued: “I know he will be looking down on me and thinking, ‘Ok, yeah.’ He would have been happy.”
Debbie explained that it wasn’t just fans of the BBC dancing series that were left shocked by her raunchy display as Giovanni had no idea she was going to kiss him.
“In rehearsal I just gently caressed his cheek and gave him a gentle push,” she enthused. “But actually I didn’t really realise until I watched it back how hard I pushed him. It was a bit of a smacker, he was so great.”
It came after Debbie hit back at Holly after she joked the magician’s assistant had flashed her underwear during the racy dance.

“You were so brave to break away from hold and do your own thing,” Holly said. “You were so sexy and I saw your knickers!”
Debbie clearly wasn’t impressed by the rumours that she had exposed herself, quipping: “This is a Strictly secret… They build the costumes on a leotard base, so that’s what you saw - not my knickers!”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday on BBC One at 6.45pm.
