Fan-favourite vicar Billy (played by Daniel Brocklebank) has been struggling with his new life as an adoptive father to his ex-boyfriend Drew’s (Tom Godwin) daughter Summer Spellman (Matilda Freeman), but his past is about to come back to haunt him.
While his partner Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley) is fully aware of his painful past, following the arrival of his heroin-addicted brother Lee to the cobbles last year, this new development could put a big spanner in the works for the loved-up couple.
The ITV soap’s producer Kate Oates made the plot thicken when she teased: “We have seen his brother. There are clues in his brother as to elements the story might have.”
She continued to tell What’s On TV: “What Billy learns is he has greater links with someone else on the street than he ever thought possible."

The producer then hinted that it won’t be all plain-sailing for the couple, when she said: ”Todd always thought that he was the ne'er do well, and it turns out he might not be.”
The writer, 38, also recently revealed that the dark secret in Billy’s past could ruin everything for his picture-perfect life on the street, and have a lasting effect on his close neighbours.
“We have a very dark backstory for Billy coming up which is going to have a very big impact on another family in the street," she explained.
"[It's] going to be a very big story running into Christmas."
Todd has been having dealings with Adam Barlow in recent episodes
Which family could Billy’s story have an impact on and will it play into the soap’s most sinister storyline involving psychopathic kidnapper Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre)?
And will the rest of Todd’s family be safe?
Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
