And today, during her This Morning hosting debut, the Spice Girls hitmaker spoke out about what had really happened to her.
The 45-year-old was seen wiping away blood from her mouth and chin in the Instagram video, while her daughter Bluebell appeared to be far from sympathetic out of shot.
After being asked what had happened by her co-star Rylan Clark-Neal, Geri revealed: “This is so funny. I love animals - dogs and cats - but my husband’s allergic to cats.”
The mother-of-two continued, during the programme’s pet clinic segment: “Every time I see a cat, I’m like, ‘Aww’.

“I was dropping my daughter off at her friend’s house, who’s got this little cat. I picked it up and it… swiped me.”
Gesturing that the cat scratched her across her face, Geri went on: “You can’t see it,” before the original clip was show.
Rylan, 28, told her: “I saw this at the weekend and we’ve got a group chat at work, at Big Brother, and I just put, ‘Monday is in crisis’. We were all so concerned.”
