Victoria season 2: Viewers disappointed by absence of one major character 'Where indeed'
VICTORIA debuted its highly-anticipated second season tonight, but some viewers were disappointed by the absence of one important character.
Dame Diana Rigg stars in second series of Victoria
The ITV period drama’s first episode saw Jenna Coleman’s Queen Victoria struggling to adapt to her new role as a mother while juggling her stately affairs.
After a recent announcement revealed that Rufus Sewell would be returning in season two as previous Prime Minister and Victoria’s confidante Lord Melbourne however, many fans couldn’t concentrate on the drama as they waited for his arrival.
Yet when the character failed to show up, the excitement turned to disappointment as viewers felt cheated by the promise of Rufus’s return.
Taking to Twitter to vent their feelings, one person posted: “I already miss Lord M, Robert Peel is not Rufus Sewell #Victoria,” as another fan echoed: “I already love it even if Lord M is yet not back. #victoriaITV @VictoriaSeries.”

Lord M never would've pulled that sh*t
As the realisation that the actor’s return will not occur until the following episode next week, another fan complained: “Am I the only one muttering, 'Lord M never would've pulled that sh*t,' anytime Albert acts like an a**? #victoria @VictoriaSeries @ITV.”
“They mentioned Lord M….now I'm just waiting to see him #victoriaitv,” one agitated person said, while another agreed: “Yes but when will ITV's Victoria return Rufus Sewell to me.”
Viewers continued to get more and more upset at the lack of screen-time of their favourite character, ignoring the tense drama that the Queen was facing from her husband Prince Albert (played by Tom Hughes) who had been taking over many of her official duties in an attempt to feel needed in the Palace.
“Where is Lord M? #Victoria @FredrikSewell,” a fan raged, as another responded: “Where indeed?! @FredrikSewell @VictoriaSeries @ITV #VictoriaITV”
