The pair were encouraging viewers to call in with their relationship worries when the presenter made the slip-up.
Explaining what they wanted to hear from those tuning in at home, Eamonn noted: "Look, I'm just trying to imagine the scene.
"Say you're watching us from a caravan right and you're supposed to be out and about hiking or on the beach and it's pouring with rain and some is getting right on you're…"
"Thrupenny bits?" Ruth asked finishing his sentence.

Eamonn looked at his wife with shock before giggling and insisting: "You can't say that!"
"Am I allowed to say that?" the 57-year-old asked. "Maybe not. Probably not."
Her co-host turned to the camera to address the situation and said: "Before OfCom reports us, I would like to apologise for children watching, for old potty mouth Langsford there."
The light-hearted moment came after the couple were left stunned when acid attack victim Andreas Christopheros revealed that his attacker had his prison sentence reduced.

Andreas opened up about his acid attack which took place in December 2014
He explained: "He was originally sentenced to life with a minimum term of eight years.
"We appealed on the longevity of the sentence and said eight years wasn't long enough but our appeal got rejected. He appealed the life aspect, to which his appeal was granted."
"I witnessed the appeal and three judges lifted the life sentence because he wasn't deemed a danger to society. The sentence was made to be 18 years but he will probably be out in eight years," he continued.
