The new six-part series follows the hunt for a serial killer in the Highlands of Scotland and there is pressure on local detective Annie Redford (played by Laura Fraser) to discover the truth.
She takes on her first murder case when the body of Niall Swift is found with stones tied to his ankles in the waters of Loch Ness.
Annie works alongside DCI Lauren Quigley (Siobhan Finnerman) to help her crack the case and find the murderer in the town of Lochnefoy.

And viewers watching at home rushed to social media to praise last night’s opening episode of the crime drama, but many couldn’t help commenting on how similar it was to ITV’s Broadchurch.
One viewer wrote: “#TheLoch is Broadchurch with a Scottish accent.”
“Started watching #TheLoch on ITV. Dark tale. Breathtaking scenery. This could be the new Broadchurch @LT_Suzanne,” another person said.
