The actor will be back on EastEnders from May 19 as his character looks to save the pub from financial ruin.
Mick can be seen looking noticeably slimmer as he pores over financial documents in the kitchen of the pub.
Shirley Carter (played Linda Henry) can be seen checking on his progress as she stands in the doorway watching over him.
The pair appear to be on speaking terms in the first look images, which suggests she is yet to reveal that she forged his signature when she sold the pub's freehold.

The 39-year-old's return is set to be dramatic when the landlord learns that Woody Woodward (Lee Ryan) is now running the pub.
An insider told the Daily Star: "Its fair to say there's going to be a lot of shouting and maybe even some fisticuffs."
It's believed the pair will come to blows in upcoming scenes, with soap star Lee teasing a punch-up as he revealed he had filmed some "great scenes" with the actor.

Mick was last seen in the Square in March when he learned that his daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill) had been involved in a car crash.
Ever the doting dad, he quickly booked flights to be by her side as she recovered from the accident.
Mick's absence from the soap has allowed Danny to take some time out from filming and take a trip to South Africa with his family.
EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 7.30pm.
