GMB: Piers Morgan GRILLS Labour MP over taking pay rise
The presenter grilled the Labour MP about the party's pledge to use an increase in corporation tax to offer pay rises to NHS staff and slammed him for accepting a pay rise himself despite the health services struggling.
Piers, 52, probed: "How much do you earn? Are you rich?"
Jonathan rather reluctantly revealed: "MPs are very well off, we get about £70,000. I pinch myself as a Labour MP. I know where this is going."
He went on to add that he agreed that MPs should not have had a pay rise when NHS staff were not offered one.

The Labour MP said that the party were determined to give NHS workers a pay rise
Why did you accept your pay rise?
Piers demanded to know: "Why did you accept your pay rise?" to which Jonathan hit back: "We don't vote on our pay rise anymore."
But, the host was not impressed as he snapped: "You didn't have to accept it… you could have said I will be giving my pay rise to nurses."
Jonathan reluctantly agreed but noted: "I could have done that but it wouldn't have solved the understaffing of nurses. We need Labour investing in every single nurse."

It came after Piers terminated his interview with health secretary Jeremy Hunt so that he could meet his footballing heroes.
The father-of-four noticed Geoff Hurst and Gordon Banks were waiting in the wings and was quick to end his interview with the Conservative politician.
Jeremy lamented: "I can't compete. I'm out of here."
