Hosts Matt Baker and Michelle Ackerley angered those at home as they opened the programme by interviewing Amol Rajan and Matt Forde about Prime Minister Theresa May's earlier announcement.
Some claimed the broadcaster had "overdosed" on its political coverage ahead of the polls on June 8.
Many took to Twitter to blast The One Show, with users claiming the later mental health segment was being over-shadowed.
"#theoneshow already talking about the #Generalelection. Time to turn off. It's all we've heard about today no more #boring," one tweet read.

Discussing the upcoming election news, he added: "The whole world stopped, if you're the type of people that follow this closely, it's quite exciting. We wait five years for one to come around, then three come at once."
