In a scene between his character Ken Barlow and Sinead (played by Katie McGlynn), he was heard saying that he felt he was "stuck" with his late wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride).
His comments came after he discovered that Sinead was pregnant by his son Daniel (Rob Mallard) and that he would no longer be heading off to Oxford University.
He then went on somewhat of a rant about his late partner, admitting to Sinead that there was "never any real meeting of minds".
"I made the best life I could with Deirdre," he added.

Deirdre was written out of the soap following the passing of actress Anne in January 2015.
This isn't the first time Ken's actions have been criticised this month as last week viewers blasted him when he turned his back on his grandson Adam after he was beaten up by drug dealer Ronan.
The recent storylines have led some viewers to ask if Ken will become the latest villain on the Cobbles.
One asked: "Why is Ken Barlow suddenly a villain @itvcorrie??"
