The 51-year-old read out a scathing tweet to his panicked co-host Susanna Reid, 46, as one audience member had a request for the father-of-four in aid of International Happiness Day.
“Why don’t you say, ‘We’ve got some really happy news, I’m leaving with immediate affect,” the vicious post read.
“That won’t make the viewers happy,” cried Susanna. “No, don’t get any ideas. It’s alright, we love you.”
To Piers Morgan’s delight, the mother-of-three began stroking the excitable presenter: “I know one person has tweeted saying go away. Does this make you happier?”

If I knew it was that easy I’d have threatened to quit before
“Wow,” Piers gasped. “If I knew it was that easy I’d have threatened to quit before.”
Thankfully, the host was bombarded with massive praise from other viewers this morning over his candid interview with trail-blazing cosmologist Stephen Hawking.
During their fiery chat, the 75-year-old gave Theresa May a stern warning, urging the Prime Minister to resist steering the United Kingdom into a hard Brexit.

“Instead, we should retain as many links as possible with Europe and the rest of the world, particularly China,” he told Morgan, 51. “By remaining in the EU, we would have given ourselves more influence in the world.
“And we would provide future opportunities for young people, but leaving Europe threatens Britain’s status as a world leader in science and innovation.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
