The 25-year-old Lee Carter actor thrilled the audience as he sang and danced to Elton John’s I’m Still Standing.
Dressed in a white suit, wig and glasses, Danny rounded off the performance by running to the top of the stage stairs.
But as he sang the last line, Danny came into contact with one of the dancers and dramatically fell backstage.
The dancer involved was seen mouthing: “Oh my god” in shock, while presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins rushed to help.
