Corrie's Maria sentenced to twelve months in prison
Maria (played by Samia Longchambon) was sent to prison for a year after her sham marriage to her Argentinian friend Pablo was exposed.
Before she was sent down, she had been having an affair with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) behind her best friend Eva Price's (Catherine Tyldesley) back.
Eva is still blissfully unaware of her boyfriend's betrayal and has even been looking after Maria's son Liam while she serves her sentence.
Maria has been getting increasingly annoyed at Aidan, who said he would leave Eva but has failed to deliver on his promise.
