The 52-year-old actor made headlines last year when he sent Norton flying into an adjacent river after throwing a bucket of cold water over his head in a disaster he insisted "wasn't meant to happen".
Asked about the aftermath of the prank, he told Express.co.uk: "No, that wasn't a prank. That wasn't meant to happen. I s**t myself.
"Seriously, I thought I put one of the most up and coming, exciting, charismatic actors in f**king hospital."
He added: "I thought it would be funny to throw a bucket of water over him and he fell over the edge and just disappeared.

"I thought, 'Oh my God, he's gone, he's done.' The horror of the telling off I got from the execs and producers - I was reprimanded."
Despite the controversy, the Wire in the Blood star admitted there are no hard feelings between himself and his co-star as he went on to commend Norton on his promising career.
His revelation came just days after he teased This Morning host Holly Willoughby about having a crush on the actor during his appearance on the show.
Before discussing his upcoming fishing series, Grand Slam Fishing, Robson left Phillip Schofield's co-host blushing when he teased her about liking his 31-year-old co-star.
