Jonny, 44, was appearing on the daytime TV show to promote T2, the second Trainspotting film.
Holly, 35, remarked that it had been two decades since the first film was released, during which time the actors had aged.
“You can’t replace that 20 years later,” she said.
Feigning being offended, Jonny said: “I know!”

Stop it!
Holly began to giggle as she realised what she had said but continued talking anyway, adding: “You can’t! No matter how great an actor you are!”
At that point Phillip, 54, decided to jump in and stop the mother-of-three from saying any more.
He told her: “Stop it, you can see you’re hurting him.”

The comment was all meant in jest, however, and Jonny did not appear to actually have been hurt by the presenter’s words.
Earlier on in the programme there was panic as Phillip had to leave an interview to chase a child around the studio.
This Morning continues weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
