Phillip Schofield IGNORED as This Morning goes terribly wrong with awkward live gaffe
PHILLIP SCHOFIELD was left a little red-faced on today's edition of This Morning when a live interview went terribly wrong.
This Morning's awkward segment on Cilla's Liverpool statue
The ITV show sent a reporter to Mathew Street in Liverpool to see the unveiling of a Cilla Black statue but the outdoor broadcast didn't quite go to plan.
As Phillip and his co-host Holly Willoughby sat in the studio in London, they tried to ask Peter a question about the location of the bronze statue.
He tried to interrupt the broadcast, asking: "Peter can I just ask about the location..Peter? Can you hear me?"
Unfortunately the 54-year-old was snubbed as Peter continued to talk to a local in Liverpool.
The presenter continued to try to attract his attention, shouting: "He can't hear me. Pete, I don't know if you can hear me but I did actually just want to have a quick word about the location.
"Not very many people know, and especially the tourists who arrive don't…"
He trailed off and sighed as he realised his attempts to find out more information were futile.
Peter continued with his report clearly unaware of the technical issues that are being experienced.
Holly meanwhile found the whole interaction hilarious as she laughed at her co-hosts failed attempts to attract Peter's attention.
It came after the blonde beauty struggled to control her two pet kittens Bluebell and Teddy as she introduced the show.
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
