THE truth behind Michelle Fowler’s surprising return to Walford has finally been revealed in last night's episode of EastEnders.

The character – who is now played by Olivier Award-winning actress Jenna Russell instead of veteran soap stat Susan Tully – had been hiding a big secret since returning to Albert Square.
And in the special episode that focused on Sharon Mitchell (played by Letitia Dean) and Michelle’s friendship, she confided in her best friend.
She admitted that she had been having an illegal affair with her 17-year-old student Preston whilst living in America.
Sharon was stunned at her friend’s confession who revealed her husband Tim no longer found her attractive and that was when she fell for the student.

“We were going to have our first Christmas…” Michelle began to recall the story.
She went on to explain that she “didn’t get the chance” as his mother found his suitcase and went into the school to confront her.

During the episode, viewers took the social media to vent their anger after the two characters both swore before the 9pm watershed.
Sharon had just discovered that her husband Phil (Steve McFadden) was the father of Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) unborn child and swore in a moment of anger.

She yelled: “Stupid, stupid, stupid b*****d!”
And only six minutes later, Michelle cursed after saying she only had to look at a bagel to put on weight.
“I might as well have shoved it down my trousers and sellotaped it to me a**e!” she cried.
