And one person who appeared to have taken the news badly was Sky Sports presenter Adam Leventhal.
The television host, who was a fan of Watford, who Graham also managed during his career, was left inconsolable after hearing the news of his death.
As he read out a family statement on live TV, he broke down in tears as struggled through the difficult segment.
"It is with great sadness, we have to announce that Graham passed away at his home early this morning of a suspected heart attack," Adam cried.

Adam was forced to pause half-way through the statement, apologising to viewers: "Excuse me."
As he finished, he commented: "It's very sad," with his co-hosts agreeing.
Graham passed away at the age of 72 early this morning of a suspected heart attack and his loss has certainly made an impact.

Many fans of his have taken to social media to pay tribute, with the England team's Twitter account sharing: "Rest in peace, Graham. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones."
Alan Shearer added: "Completely shocked by the news of Graham Taylor. Always held him in the very highest regard - the man who gave me my first @england cap. So sad."
Peter Crouch posted: "Sad news about Graham Taylor. Had so much respect for him. Gave me my premier league debut and I will always be thankful."
