And now Ore Oduba has opened up about the reason why he believes he was in the bottom two after failing to impress the public with his Foxtrot on Saturday night.
The sports presenter took to the dance floor with his partner Joanne Clifton to perform to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's Pure Imagination last weekend but he felt he didn't dance to the best of his abilities.
Speaking on spin-off series It Takes Two, the 30-year-old blamed his nerves ahead of the quarter-final for his less than impressive performance.
He told presenter Zoe Ball: "I have watched it back and I think the only way to describe it was I was scared.
Ore revealed that he felt he 'wasn't himself' ahead of Saturday night's show
The presenter admitted he was scared that their Foxtrot would be their last
I was so nervous about it being our possible last dance
"I was genuinely scared because I couldn't put my finger on it on the night. I think there was the fear that we were the opening dance and it was so technical I didn't want to put a step wrong."
Ore went on to add: "I was so nervous about it being our possible last dance. I let it run through me, it wasn't me that weekend."
His professional partner Joanne tried to insist that it was her fault because "I choreographed the routine" but he refused to let her take the blame.
The pair performed the Foxtrot once more in the dance-off and Ore admitted he felt it went better the second time round.

Ore will tackle both the Argentine Tango and Quickstep at the weekend
"I loved it," he said. "I loved doing it again and doing it justice. Like I said, I didn't feel like myself that whole weekend I was myself. I would have been so gutted if we had gone as we wouldn't have done ourselves justice."
For the semi-final, Ore and Joanne will tackle the Quickstep, which they will perform to Are You Gonna Be My Girl? by Jet, and the Argentine Tango to Can't Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie Minogue.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One at 6.50pm.
