CHARLIE BROOKER hailed US president Donald Trump supporters as "progressive" during tonight's Have I Got News For You, before taking a hilarious swipe at the "first openly crazy" leader of the free world.

The Black Mirror mastermind playfully simmered backlash against the commander in chief during tonight's instalment of the satirical panel show, as Ian Hislop, Paul Merton, Mauren Lipman and US comedian Rich Hall teased the "misogynistic orange head".
After phoning Katie Hopkins an Uber, following her promise to move across the pond should Trump be elected president, the comical author explained that there are several silver linings to Tuesday's result, which millions have failed to notice.
"It sounds like they're actually quite progressive, these voters," the 45-year-old enthused. "I mean, it's bad news for minorities and women and all the other many, many people he's insulted - but on the plus side, progressively, they've elected the first openly crazy man as the most powerful man in office in the world."
"It's so depressing, it really is,"Lipman chipped in: "I understand this a comedy show, but I haven't seen any so far.
