The former Shadow Chancellor appeared on the early morning news show were he defended the blunder, stressing that Katya was totally “secure”.
Feeling confident in the 49-year-old’s comments, Susanna joyfully leapt into the ex-Labour MP’s arms as he twirled her around the ITV studio.
“I don’t think we should do that lift,” the presenter hesitantly quipped. Though, she soon took the spin in her stride and once in the air pleaded: “Can we move?”
Back on the ground, Susanna teased: “I’m still dizzy, but I’m very impressed you managed to lift me!”

Recalling the lift, that didn’t quite go to plan, he added: “It worked every time in rehearsal, it was really solid! That hold, for whatever reason, we don’t know how but her foot went and pivoted and everyone was worried about me dropping her, but actually she was totally secure.
“I still did the turn thinking, ‘I’ve got to come out of this to go into the next move’.”
Despite Ed’s mishap, the politician notched up his highest score to date with a respectable 26 points.
“It was a great feeling to get that score from Len,” beamed the lovable star. “Getting the eight from Bruno was totally unexpected; Craig, he’s tough every week but you’ve go to learn.”

Ed admitted that he is “easily the worst dancer” still left in the competition, yet the public keep him in the BBC Ballroom week-on-week.
“I’ve expected to be in the dance off every week,” he enthused. “I’m the novice, but we’ve taken risks.”
He continued: “I [don’t think] I’ll get to the end, but I could get to Blackpool, so that’s what we’re going for. I’m taking every dance as it comes!”
Strictly Come Dancing continues at 6.45pm on BBC One this Saturday, while Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
