The Gaelgóir was hosting on TG4 when a massive crash could be heard, a bolt of thunder hit her, she screamed, and then disappeared.
The screen hastily cut to a generic title card, with no further trace of the popular broadcaster.
Obviously, one would hope, it was all part of a Halloween prank, for which she and her team were widely praised.

It wasn't even her first Halloween incident that day, as she had earlier hosted a weather update floating on a magic carpet.
"I thought I was seeing things when I saw that," tweeted one person, as the lightning trick garnered hundreds of retweets.
"Rest in Peace," quipped someone else.

A third person saw an opportunity to rid TV of other presenters, suggesting: "Could we extend it to Joe Whinge, Marion, Tubridy, Miriam and a host of other 'stars' please."
Another viewer seemed unsure if the whole thing was a hoax or not, asking: "Did she just get electrocuted or was that a Halloween prank?"
Caitlin herself hasn't tweeted since seemingly being vanquished, but it's safe to assume she'll be back at work as usual before long.
