The X Factor 2016: Five After Midnight hint at band split after 'serious clash'
THE X FACTOR found itself in fresh turmoil tonight as Five After Midnight hinted at a band split.
5 After Midnight come to blows over their dance routine
In a pre-recorded clip, the group made suggestions that there is conflict in the band.
Choreographer Brian Friedman said: "They are not agreeing, they're standing around and I don't know how you would come together for something when you aren't even talking. They're eating up my time."
Later, Louis Walsh asked his act how they were getting on - but their responses continued with negativity.
Band member Kieran Alleyne said: "It's just like real brothers, sometimes you all hate each other and sometimes you love each other. You're literally like 'give me my space, please people'.
5AM hinted at a split
Simon Cowell RIPS into 5 After Midnight's performance
Fellow bandmate Nathan Lewis added: "Having to work with each other, be at home with each other as well, there's a lot of pressure.
Louis reassured the band and told them to carry on as they were doing well.
"I've looked after a lot of different bands and it's not easy, especially if you're under pressure, you're worried about getting votes, you're doing amazingly good," said the mentor.
However, following a "terrible" performance of Valerie, Simon Cowell was not impressed.
He commented: "I'm a fan, you know that. I think your first two weeks have been incredible, I'm going to be honest with you guys. This was terrible. It was absolutely terrible. It was like a rehearsal.
Rylan and Matt question 5AM about tension in the group
"Everything from the styling, from the choreography, the vocals were terrible. I don't know what is going on in your heads right now, but let me give you some advice.
"This is a platform where you can have a career on, sort yourselves out, make sure you concentrate more on the vocals than the dancing, because this was your weakest performance by a mile. Sorry."
When later questioned by Rylan and Matt on The Xtra Factor, the band spoke more about the group tension after 19 weeks together.
Kieran continued: "We're brothers at the end of the day, we're going to have arguments. We're not always going to be perfect, before Jay Lee interjected with: "It's true, it's serious. We're going to clash."
The X Factor continues tomorrow night at 8pm on ITV.
