The Archers: Listeners in shock as Radio 4 soap 'goes all Fifty Shades Of Grey'
TWITTER users’ minds were sent racing tonight as they listened to The Archers as Shula continually referred to Oliver as “master”.
Shula calls Oliver "Master" repeatedly in The Archers
Plenty of suggestive remarks cropped up on the mircro-blogging site, as the character referred to her love interest as “master” multiple times within the first minute or so of the episode. But, in context, it was less obscure: the pair were at the hunt, of which Oliver is Huntmaster.
“This hunting malarky all sounds a bit BDSM if you ask me,” came one listener's opinion on Twitter.
“Shula enjoys shouting ‘master’ just a bit too much, methinks,” mused a second, followed by: “Shula’s gone all 50 Shades,” by a third.
“Can you imagine calling anyone 'Master' in that way? Unless you had specific, er, interests,” insinuated somebody else.
The saucy references brought about ideas of Fifty Shades Of Grey

“Have I been a naughty girl, Master?” joked a fifth social media user, as another typed: “The position of Master is number 394 in the Kama Sutra. Go Shula!”
Another tweet read: “Nearly spat out my wine, thinking #TheArchers had an exciting and unexpected new storyline.”
Others thought it all sounded like Frankenstein, with various tweeters posting comments to the tune of: “What's all this Master rubbish? It makes Shula sound like Igor to Oliver's Baron Frankenstein.”
Others likened it to an altogether different programme: “Am I listening to Dr Who? #Master #thearchers.”
Being about fox hunting, several irritated tweets appeared, slamming the soap for referring to the sport.

“Hunting is so weird. Not to mention barbaric. And illegal. And glamourised,” one person wrote, as another typed: “I've just discovered another reason to be anti-hunting.”
Someone else was enjoying the word-use, however: “Anyone else playing Master Bingo?”
The storyline progressed to reveal that Shula was hoping to be joint master of the hunt, and that she was interested in finding more out about the position from Oliver.
