The judge could be seen with his arm wrapped around his fellow judge and birthday girl Sharon Osbourne following the first results show.
Despite losing one of his acts in the sing off, the Irishman appeared in high spirits as he joked around with the 64-year-old.
He said goodbye to boy band Bratavio after they failed to impress Simon Cowell, Sharon and Nicole Scherzinger in the sing-off.
Louis could be seen flashing a smile at waiting cameras outside the studios and even gave Sharon a kiss on the cheek.

His joyful demeanour comes after he admitted that he may not return to The X Factor next year after he has been temporarily left with just one act in the competition.
Speaking on the Xtra Factor, he explained: "I don't know [if I'll be back next year] as my contact is one year at a time.
"I could be on Strictly next year or I could be on the jungle."
However, he admitted that there was nowhere else he would rather be than on the judges' panel, adding: "It's the best show in the world."

While Bratavio were voted off, boy band Brooks Way are currently suspended from the competition following allegations that Josh Brooks beat up his ex-girlfriend Amelia Clarke, which he has furiously denied.
Louis is now left with only 5 After Midnight in the running to be the winner of this year's X Factor after the trio appeared to confirm that Brooks Way had been axed from the show.
Discussing the loss of Bratavio from the competition, group told hosts Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmondson: "Remember they are our group, they are in our category. We've lost another group."
