‘What kind of interview is this?’ William Shatner blasts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway
A LIVE interview with William Shatner on Good Morning Britain was an entertaining disaster today as he took aim at Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway for technical fails and awkward questions.
William Shatner's EXCRUCIATINGLY awkward GMB interview
The 85-year-old had to communicate with the broadcasters using a mobile phone after the sound equipment failed, and struggled to hear their line of questioning - and even when he did hear what was being asked, he wasn’t particularly impressed.
When the hosts relayed a fan question on what his favourite Star Trek episode is, he said: “That is a very bizarre question. Did you do research on that?”
Ben and Kate struggled through the remainder of the session and, at the end, William said: “Is that you, Neils?”
When Ben clarified his identity, the actor added: “I'm getting out of this. What kind of interview is this? I was told to expect Neils!”

“Lovely to chat, if that’s what it was, with you,” he replied.
When the scene cut back to the studio, a flustered and laughing Ben joked: “I need a drink.”
“Brutal,” Kate laughed.
William was promoting a 50th anniversary Star Wars convention at the Birmingham NEC, which is taking place throughout the weekend.
The 85-year-old didn't seem to know who he was talking to
Earlier on GMB, fans had expressed concern for news reporter Richard Gaisford, who was providing live coverage of Hurricane Matthew from Florida.
The scene looked visibly unsafe, with viewers posting on social media that it could have been an unsafe environment for the journalist.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
