EVER SINCE it was announced that Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins would be leaving The Great British Bake Off ahead of its move to Channel 4, the country has been speculating as to who should take over.

And now the people have spoken: Nadiya Hussain has been named as the nation's top choice for the job, after a staggering 1.6 million tweeted about the changes.
Last year's winner Nadiya Hussain, 31, is now the micro-blogging site's frontrunner overtaking the likes of established stars Jamie Oliver and Clare Balding.
The amateur baker, who left Mary Berry in tears when she triumphed, is who those at home want to present Bake Off when it airs on the rival broadcaster.
While the Naked Chef himself comes in a close second place, 90s legends The Chuckle Brothers oddly find themselves in third.

Despite never being Star Baker, Andrew Smyth, 25, and Selasi Gbormittah, 30, take second and third place.

Although she may not be a hot topic online, Jane Beedle is second favourite to win, just in front of Tom Gilliford.
