Sir Alan will see you now: The Apprentice Series 12 returns
The star of The Apprentice - which returns for its twelfth run on BBC One next week - has spoken out about his American counterpart, and his current efforts to become President of the United States.
Referring to last night's live debate - which saw Trump go head-to-head with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton - Lord Sugar remarked that he felt like he was watching an episode of Would I Lie To You.
"All that was missing was Rob Brydon in the middle," the 69-year-old business tycoon quipped.
Last night's debate saw over 80 million viewers tune in to watch the candidates each argue their policies and come to blows over employment, taxes and international relations.

Donald Trump is not as good as me
Trump was the former star of the US version of The Apprentice, which aired a year before the UK version began in 2005; but Lord Sugar is adamant there's no comparison between the two of them.
"Donald Trump is not as good as me," Lord Sugar said candidly, speaking at the launch of the new UK series.
"He's not even in my class. [What he says] is complete and utter nonsense. And he left the show, and NBC, under a cloud of uncertainty. And it's a frightening thought that he could become the most powerful man in the world."
Clearly backing Clinton, Lord Sugar's aide Baroness Karren Brady added: "If another woman gains a position of power, it just makes the world a better place."
