The Chase fans slam ‘slowest team ever’ after 12 question fail in final round
FANS of The Chase were left fuming this evening after a shocking performance by the team in the final round.
The Chase contestants take their time answering questions
The three contestants could only answer 12 questions between them in the last leg of the ITV quiz show as they tried to outrun the Chaser, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace.
Teams that generally outrun the Chaser and those who win the game need to get upwards of 15 questions right, so it was not surprising when they were beaten by the brain box.
With about a minute remaining on the clock, The Dark Destroyer, 56, caught out the team and they were sent packing while their impressive cash pot of £60,000 was taken away.
Once the game was over, the Chaser told the team: "Yeah, very good team Bradley, they slightly under performed a little but at the end of the day it's just another day at the office."
However, many viewers were left totally unimpressed by the efforts of the trio and took to social media to lambast them for failing to answer more questions correctly.
One audience member branded them: "#thechase slowest team EVER!!!!", while someone else simply posted on Twitter: "Oh dear #TheChase."
The team failed to be the Chaser tonight
The team did not manage to answer many questions in the final
If Sean doesn't catch these man he should retire. #TheChase
A third wrote: "That was a case of three heads better than 'what the hell happened' #TheChase."
"If Sean doesn't catch these man he should retire. #TheChase," reasoned yet another viewer.
There was some sympathy on the micro-blogging site, as one person posted: "So a guy steams back £50k and #thechase makes the questions 20x harder?! Not fair."
The Dark Destroyer beat the team with a minute to spare
The team lost £60,000
John managed to accumulate £50,000
While someone else added: "Oh dear, it was all going so well #thechase."
During tonight's episode travel operator John decided to go big and opted for £50,000 and took a step closer to the Chaser, so that he could add to the meagre £10,000.
Sadly, it was not to be their night as they struggled with some tricky questions in the last round.
Their performance follows on from a similar game the night before when Anne Hegerty caught out another team with just 11 questions.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
