NETFLIX has released the trailer for its new short documentary, The White Helmets, which follows rescue workers in Syria.

Set in Aleppo, Syria and Turkey in early 2016, the documentary follows the rescue workers as they rush to search for those trapped in the wreckages of the bombs that continue to fall on their homes.
Constantly worried for the safety of their loved ones, they put their lives on the line every day to help those affected by the war.
The first trailer for the documentary is both heartbreaking and inspiring as it shows a snapshot of the harrowing reality for many Syrians who remain in the country.
In the two-minute clip, one of the White Helmet workers can be seen saying goodbye to his family before leaving to help those in need.

As he leaves his home, he looks up to the sky and spots a helicopter hovering above.
The calm quickly turns to fear as a bomb is dropped on the city causing destruction and Syrians can be seen being lifted from the rubble on stretchers.
Civilians can be heard screaming as they rush to help those trapped in buildings, while a news reporter announces: "The latest missile attacks on hospitals and schools in rebel held areas has left up to 50 civilians dead."

In the trailer, the White Helmets can be seen walking through empty streets with buildings falling to pieces behind them.
In one tear-jerking shot, they can be seen pulling a newborn baby from the rubble of a house. Those at the scene can be heard shouting with joy and applauding the team for their incredible work.
The White Helmets launches globally on Netflix on September 16.
