SHERLOCK creator Steven Moffatt says the show has so much material to draw from it could go on and on.
Steven Moffat has said Sherlock could go 'on and on'
Filming for the fourth season began in spring, and the show, “the darkest” yet, is due to air next year.
Speaking at ComicCon in San Diego, Mr Moffatt said: “We could easily tell a lot of the Sherlock stories for the rest of our lives, easily. We absolutely could.
“There are 60 stories in the original and I don’t think Mark Gatiss and I would ever tire from inventing new ones.
“It won’t be down to us. We’ll just keep writing it whether the actors even show up.”

Moffatt spoke in the wake of the new trailer for the next series of Sherlock was unveiled at ComicCon.
Benedict Cumberbatch and the cast of Sherlock say that season four will be the darkest yet and packed with “quite a few tears”- and possibly Moriarty coming back from the dead.
