Top Gear: Jeremy Clarkson SNUBS final episode as he tunes in to football instead
JEREMY CLARKSON snubbed the final episode of his former show Top Gear tonight as he favoured football coverage instead.
Jeremy Clarkson did not watch Top Gear tonight
The hugely popular broadcaster, 56, seems to be one of many people who have abandoned ship on the BBC show over the course of the year, as its overnight ratings continued to dip over the course of its run.
Jeremy, who departed the venture in a shroud of controversy in 2015, hinted on Twitter as the programme started that he was watching Iceland play France instead.
“Right. Come on Iceland,” he wrote - prompting an avalanche of replies relating to his former job.
“But Top Gear is on,” one person said, while another wrote: “He's not watching @BBC_TopGear !!! Hahaha.”

A third tweeted: “@JeremyClarkson thank god its the last top gear tonight, roll on some new motoring show on Amazon!”
“@JeremyClarkson thought you'd be watching Top Gear?” said another person simply.
Top Gear may have been underperforming with its overnight figures but it has been making up considerable ground on catch-up.
Its opening episode, which was at the top of the iPlayer rankings for several days, is thought to have almost doubled its audience figure when viewers who did not watch live were factored in.
James May and Richard Hammond will follow him to The Grand Tour

Now attention turns to who will present it next year: Chris Evans has come in for a terrible time from critics and fans at home, although the likes of Matt LeBlanc and Rory Reid have gone down considerably better.
Jeremy, meanwhile, can be seen on The Grand Tour with Richard Hammond and James May from the autumn on Amazon Prime.
