Viewers blast Gordon Ramsay’s teen daughter for promoting cooking show on BBC Breakfast
TILLY RAMSAY, daughter of TV chef Gordon, appeared on BBC Breakfast to chat about her TV show today - prompting some disgruntled remarks on social media.
Tilly Ramsay appeared on BBC Breakfast to discuss her TV show
The 14-year-old has been given her own show on CBBC, called Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch, and today she was promoting it on the breakfast show.
The series centres around Tilly - who is the second eldest of Gordon and Tana Ramsay’s four (soon to be five) children - and her cookery endeavours with her famous family.
Speaking to Naga Munchetty and Dan Walker this morning, Tilly said: “It’s a really fun programme to teach and inspire young people to cook, to learn how to cook, it’s us, cooking at home, very relaxed, we’re doing different adventures to mix in with it. So we go out to Las Vegas to cook a Las Vegas meal.”
Clips were shown of Tilly in the kitchen with the likes of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster and Victoria and David Beckham’s son Cruz.
The show welcomed her into the studio to chat about her CBBC cookery programme

@BBCBreakfast I was always a defender of the BBC but #breakfast has descended to #celebrity pampering akin to #ITV #Ramseykids
But amid the positive message that the show aims to send out, there were some unhappy viewers on Twitter.
“@BBCBreakfast why does my license fee pay for Gordon Ramsay's kid to get her own show?” asked one unimpressed viewer.
This comment in particular brought up the much debated topic of the license fee, enforced by the BBC.
A second tweet read: “@BBCBreakfast I was always a defender of the BBC but #breakfast has descended to #celebrity pampering akin to #ITV #Ramseykids,” adding “#Ramseykids It's time for the #BBC to be dismantled, it has lost it's way”.
The show features Cruz Beckham as a special guest, seen here with the Cookie Monster

After getting his wife into a cooking career, even Gordon Ramsay's daughter is being shoe-horned in now. Parasite. #bbcbreakfast

Twitter users took to the social network to rant about the license fee and nepotism at the BBC
The distaste appeared to come from the fact that Tilly has seemingly been handed her own show due to her father’s position as a celebrity chef.
Another comment said: “@BBCBreakfast sure, Tilly is nice kid but pls old boys n girls network, Ramsays daughter gets exposure n cbbc show nepotism sickening.”
Others were more forgiving, however. One tweeter posted: “What an inspirational person @GordonRamsay's daughter Tilly is. Next generation coming on as it should be @BBCBreakfast.”
Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch airs on CBBC on Friday at 5pm.
