Holly Willoughby lashes out at ‘irresponsible’ author over 'dangerous' book 'Meternity'
HOLLY WILLOUGHBY was left raging by a guest during today’s This Morning when author Meghan Foye defended her controversial new book ‘Meternity’.
Holly tells 'Meternity' writer her idea is dangerous
Meghan recently explained that she believed all non-parents should be entitled to a similarly paid ‘maternity’ leave to working mums.
As a mother-of-three, Holly was swift to stress that time off to raise a new born baby is anything but “me time”.
Meghan effectively compared getting through the day with an hours sleep while ankle-deep in nappies to a “sabbatical”, which understandably rubbed up Holly the wrong way.
“You’ve described maternity leave as a sabbatical, as if we just put our feet up,” Holly fumed at the writer.

isn’t this just pandering to a bunch of tree huggers?
Meghan denied ever disrespecting working parents, but Holly hit back: “But you get frustrated when women get leave for child care. You find that very frustrating, that you pick up the slack for these women.”
The guest assured that she’s received tonnes of letters for fans who have called for “more time off”.
“But that’s not the way the world works,” barked Phillip Schofield. “You have to be valuable to your employer. When you took time off did you think you should still be paid?”

Meghan claims all non-parents deserve the equivalent time off
Meghan replied: “I’m not saying this should be a policy, but if you have developed a really good relationship with your employer then what’s wrong with asking for some time off to come back and be better at your job?”
But Phillip wasn’t having any of it, and fought back: “Isn’t this just pandering to a bunch of tree huggers?”
Holly chipped in: “I think it’s the name. Your choice of phrase, it’s pretty explosive. I get the work-life balance thing, but my problem is you compare maternity leave to a sabbatical and that’s dangerous.”

“I don’t know if that is dangerous.” Meghan replied.
Holly responded: “Well, I think it is and I think it’s a slightly irresponsible thing to do.”
