The famed television star, known to her fans as Supernanny, filed the complaint while filming scenes for her upcoming series, Jo Frost: Nanny On Tour.
In the episode, which aired last night, the 44-year-old child behaviour specialist tried to help The Spivey family from Gwinnett County, Georgia,
But when CCTV footage showed father Chris Spivey removing his belt after an altercation with his son, Jo was left with no other option to involve the authorities.
The explosive scenes showed nine-year-old Marcus being yelled at after using his father’s phone charger without permission. Chris was then seen storming up the stairs, following the youngster, after removing his belt.

While no physical discipline was shown, footage picked up the worrying sound of Marcus' cries, which was broadcast on the UP Channel last night.
The incident took place in October, and after coming to Jo's attention, she reported Chris to the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS).
Chris has since revealed that the DCFS’s investigation found no wrongdoing on his behalf, and he denied using his belt as a weapon.

However, he did admit to using physical discipline in the past, which is illegal in his residing state of Georgia.
Jo has spoken out against the use of corporal punishment to discipline a child on Twitter, posting: “I truly hope this makes millions of families question their practice of discipline and the immediate effect and the long-term effect it is going to have on the relationships with their family members."
