According to creator Chris Carter, the finale is going to leave the door open for more alien shenanigans.
In a short video, Chris, 58, says that with a “certain amount of certainty” the show will indeed be back for even more cases.
"The finale, which is a big cliffhanger, leads you to believe there’s more story to tell," Carter says in the 27-second clip.
"I can tell you that with a certain amount of certainty we’ll be asked to come back with more X-Files in the future,” he added in the video from Hollywood Outbreak.

The six-part rebooted series, starring Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, is currently airing on both sides of the Atlantic as the dynamic duo embark on a new set of cases.
The show kicked off in the UK earlier this week and saw Mulder and Scully back together again after the alien hunter was drawn into a colossal conspiracy theory to end all conspiracy theories.
The first episode was met with a mixed reception from fans, who enjoyed the nostalgia factor but were left less impressed by the confusing plot.

The X-Files kicked off in the UK earlier this week
However, 3.5 million viewers tuned in to watch the opener, entitled My Struggle, making it Channel 5’s highest-rated show in over a year.
Next week the former FBI agents will be sent to explore a strange case after the suicide of a scientist working on research involving children suffering from genetic abnormalities.
The X-Files continues on Channel 5 on Mondays at 9pm.
