‘I didn’t call her Summer Squash Meadowlark’ Ryan Reynolds defends calling baby girl James
RYAN REYNOLDS made a rare daytime TV appearance on Good Morning Britain today, where he opened up about being a first-time father.

The actor, promoting his new movie Deadpool, became a parent to baby girl James in December 2014, alongside wife Blake Lively.
“My father just passed away, but my daughter’s named after him,” he revealed.
Told by Kate Garraway that the moniker is “unusual” for a female in the UK, he argued that famous figures have been known to go much more left-field.
“In the spectrum of weird celebrity baby names, I don’t really feel like we’re breaking new ground here. I didn’t call her Summer Squash Meadowlark," he pointed out.

I also thought of going with all the letters silent in her name and it’d just be pronounced [long breath out]
“I also thought of going with all the letters silent in her name and it’d just be pronounced [long breath out]. I’m just giving dumb celebrities ideas.”
The 39-year-old is adapting well to fatherhood, but admitted he is wary of sounding pretentious when discussing it.
“I love it, I love it,” he beamed. “You just don’t want to be one of those awful celebrities who talks about it like they’re the only person on Earth who gets to conceive a child.”
The Hollywood star also joked that Blake was “concerned” when he took his Deadpool superhero costume home with him, adding: “It scares the dogs.”

Earlier in his UK visit, Ryan seemingly became a big fan of rising British singer Laura Mvula.
Writing on Twitter, he called the artist a “one woman hurricane” after meeting her on The Graham Norton Show.
“As if I sat on a sofa with you!??! Wooow,” she replied.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
