Oh no Prince Andrei, what have you done to that luscious hair?

And not least because of his luxuriant hairstyle as the haughty but dashing Prince Andrei in the BBC1 adaptation of Tolstoy’s 19th century classic.

The 30-year-old’s shaven look is not permanent however.
He has had the trim only for his role as villain Tommy Lee Royce in another BBC drama, Happy Valley.
As the six-episode War And Peace adaptation continues on Sunday nights he will be seen with a full head of hair, besides wearing the glamorous uniforms of a Russian aristocrat.
James Norton says that he doesn't get recognised in the street with his new hairstyle
Changing his appearance has its upside for Norton. “I don’t get recognised in the street, which is a huge relief, and I often change my hair so that throws people,” he said recently.
War And Peace was adapted by Andrew Davies, whose version of Pride And Prejudice made a star of Colin Firth when he was shown emerging from a swim in a wet shirt.
Whether Norton as Prince Andrei gets to go for a dip in the new series remains to be seen...
