The former Live and Kicking star has famously battled with bipolar and tragically lost her famous blonde locks as a symptom of her alopecia - a rare condition believed to have been brought on from stress.
The 44-year-old is hoping to revive her flailing career, which has vastly diminished from her golden era as one of the most sought after stars on TV and regularly gracing the covers of leading lads mag FHM.
A source told The Sun: "Gail has had an absolutely hellish few years, both mentally and physically. It would be enough to finish anyone off.
“But she is starting to come through it and feels ready to go into the house. It could be her path back into the limelight and resurrect her career.”
Other top names thought to be entering the Elstree compound include fiery supermodel Janice Dickinson, US comedian Kathy Griffith, recently engaged X Factor couple Chloe Jasmine and Stevi Richie and wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, while national treasure Carol Vorderman is already the bookie's favourite to win.
