Piers made up one third of the original judging panel
The news comes just weeks after it emerged that Piers would be making a cameo in the new Entourage movie.
According to DigitalSpy, the film will pick up just over half a year after the original programme ended.
It is thought Piers will be seen reporting on Adrien Grenier's character, Vinny Chase's career at the start.
The star appeared on the series for five years until 2011
Meanwhile, Piers recently admitted he regretted not hitting former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson.
Appearing on ITV's Play To The Whistle, he confessed: "The reason I didn't hit him – it was at the British Press Awards – and I thought I'd be fired if I hit him and then I got fired three weeks later anyway.
"So I kind of should have hit him."
