Double trouble: Cheryl's X Factor acts fail to find the right note
THERE was a double loss for X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini last night when two of her acts were booted off the live elimination show.
Posh singer Chloe-Jasmine Whichello failed to get the backing of the judges while 20-year-old Stephanie Nala exited after receiving the fewest public votes.
Chloe, 24, from West Sussex, lost in a sing-off against eight-piece boy band Stereo Kicks with her version of Will You Still Love Me by The Shirelles.
She cheekily put it to the panel of judges: "I was going to just ask, can I be the ninth member of Stereo Kicks?" Praising mentor Cheryl after being told she was going home, the jazz singer said: "You are absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for taking a chance on me."
I'm absolutely gutted that we've lost her. I think we've lost an amazing character
Cheryl told presenter Dermot O'Leary: "I'm absolutely gutted that we've lost her. I think we've lost an amazing character."
The model, who was last month accused of faking her posh accent, had turned down a part in Game Of Thrones to be on X Factor. But her dream came to an end last night as judge Simon Cowell criticised her performance, saying: "You didn't sing that great."
After receiving the fewest votes from the public, Nala, from Hertfordshire, who first found fame singing with The Luminites on Britain's Got Talent, said: "Honestly, I just feel so grateful to get here. I've had an amazing opportunity. I've grown as a person. I've lost my voice and I've had so much fun."
Cheryl said: "She's very distinctive so she was always going to be not everyone's cup of tea. I knew it was a gamble. It was a gamble I was more than happy to take and I'd take it again."
