'Masterpiece' thriller writer's next series lands BAFTA-nominated Peaky Blinders star
Peaky Blinders star Daryl McCormack has signed on to appear in an untitled Apple TV thriller series from Homeland writer Alex Cary.

Peaky Blinders actor Daryl McCormack has been cast in Apple TV's forthcoming thriller from a Homeland writer.
The Irish actor is recognised for his role as Isaiah Jesus in later series of the popular BBC crime drama created by Steven Knight.
His standout performance opposite Emma Thompson in the dramedy film Good Luck to You, Leo Grande earned him two BAFTA nominations, and he'll soon be seen in Dolly Alderton's miniseries adaptation of Pride and Prejudice for Netflix.
He has also recently featured in Netflix's Wake Up Dead Man, Apple's Bad Sisters and BBC mystery drama The Woman in the Wall with Ruth Wilson.
McCormack will next appear alongside Dakota Fanning (The Perfect Couple) and Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value) in an untitled thriller from Alex Cary.

The Emmy-winning writer and former soldier was an executive producer on the hit thriller Homeland since its first series and also adapted the successful ITVX thriller A Spy Among Friends in 2022.
His upcoming series will follow Fanning as "an undercover Treasury agent in a multi-billion dollar international conglomerate, with world-changing political and criminal tentacles, who becomes conflicted between her mission and a belief that her principal target, the heir apparent to all that corrupt power, is at his core a good man and worthy of her love".
According to Deadline, McCormack will portray the conglomerate's reluctant heir, Kar, alongside Skarsgård as the company's current head, Brandt.
The upcoming thriller is quickly becoming a must-see for Apple subscribers, following the praise for Cary's previous works.

One IMDb user hailed Homeland as "one of the best (and most underrated) series of all time", adding: "The show has some of the best acting, production and storytelling around. And although the underlying narrative is espionage and counterterrorism, it will take you on a ride through a whole range of emotions from elation to despair, sorrow and frustration.
"Can't recommend this enough to anyone interested in quality shows."
Another viewer praised the earlier seasons, stating: "This is a masterpiece of TV thriller/action/drama.
"Sharp, sophisticated, clear and crisp. Excellent performance of the entire cast. It's realistic tense, action packed 12 hours of just well made TV!"
A Spy Among Friends also garnered glowing reviews, with one user describing it as an "absolutely superb drama", while another remarked: "This is truly an acting masterclass. Every single role is played to perfection."
"I thought it was excellent in every way," another commented, and a final fan enthused: "I sat enthralled through this series from start to finish and am tempted to start watching it again."
