**Warning - this article contains major spoilers for The Bear Season 5.**

The Bear's final ever episode honours a beloved star who tragically was unable to return to film the concluding season. FX's hugely popular comedy-drama, which streams on Disney+ worldwide, centres on the gifted yet turbulent team behind a gourmet restaurant in Chicago, headed by chef Carmy Berzatto (played by Jeremy Allen White).

Season 4 of the hit series introduced business consultant Albert Schnur, who guided grill cook Ebraheim (Edwin Lee Gibson) through his ambitions to franchise the restaurant's thriving sandwich window. Albert was portrayed by actor and director Rob Reiner, best known for helming a string of landmark films throughout the 1980s and 90s, including Stand By Me, This Is Spinal Tap, Misery, When Harry Met Sally..., and A Few Good Men.

Reiner, 78, was tragically killed last December alongside his wife Michele, 70. Their son, Nick, was charged with two-counts of first-degree murder and is awaiting a preliminary hearing after pleading not guilty.

While he does not appear physically in the final season of The Bear, sharp-eyed viewers will have noticed a poignant nod to both the character and one of Reiner's most cherished films.

Following Ebraheim receiving the green light from Carmy to franchise The Beef, he phones Albert to share the exciting news. Promising to forward him some documents, he enquires whether there's anything else required.

Ebraheim pauses, smiles and responds: "As you wish."

Cinema enthusiasts will instantly recognise the line from one of Reiner's most beloved films, The Princess Bride. In the timeless fantasy adventure, farm boy Westley (Cary Elwes) frequently says this to Buttercup (Robin Wright), when he truly means "I love you".

The quote has endured as a declaration of love and now serves as the ideal farewell to the beloved filmmaker who delivered such an unforgettable performance in the series.

Viewers who spotted the homage have flocked to social media after it left them deeply moved, with one fan confessing: "ugh broke my f****** heart. you know rob would've played the f*** out of actually coaching ebra."

Another heartfelt post stated: "EBRA'S, 'AS YOU WISH'. YOU GUYS CAN'T DO THIS TO ME [crying emoji] I LITERALLY JUST WATCHED PRINCESS BRIDE A FEW NIGHTS AGO. RIP ROB REINER."

Someone else commented: "Finally watching S4 of the Bear (S5 coming out made me finally do so) and oh my god I am so depressed knowing Rob Reiner is no longer with us."

The Bear Season 5 is available to stream on Disney+.
