Television fans are in for a treat as a darkly comic thriller prepares to make its eagerly anticipated return. The BBC has confirmed that filming is now under way on the third and final series of the award-winning comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? The show centres on a grieving, unhappily married mother living in a small village, who is concealing a sinister secret.

Written by Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli, both of whom will reprise their roles, the series also sees the return of Lenny Rush, who scooped a BAFTA for his portrayal of Ollie, and Dustin Demri-Burns as Dan. The programme, which has claimed three Royal Television Society Programme Awards and was named 2025 Best TV Comedy Drama by the British Comedy Guide, will air on BBC iPlayer and BBC One later this year. Shot across Bristol, Gloucestershire and the wider West Country, the forthcoming series will pick up directly from where the previous instalment left off, reports the Mirror.

"Is Nic's confession finally out there? What exactly did Jen do to Mrs Baggot? Has Dan put a bun in the wrong oven? Did Ollie make Suzie go away? In this murky morality tale, everyone is forced to confront their messy realities once and for all," the official synopsis teases.

"We're never sure who knows what in this brilliantly complex series, but amongst the increasingly tangled web of lies and blurred boundaries, are hilarious set-pieces from the colourful comic characters who live in the village of Copbury."

The new series will also feature a host of much-loved comedians as guest stars, including Joe Wilkinson, Allan Mustafa, and James Gault, with Tom Davies reprising his role as the unhinged cab driver.

Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli said in a statement: "Being back on set together feels bittersweet knowing this is our last hurrah, but we're loving every minute of it. It's the best job in the world getting to work with your best mate and we've got the most amazing team working their hardest to make sure Am I Being Unreasonable? goes out with a big, glorious bang. We can't wait for everyone to see it!"

The show has proven a firm hit with audiences, with one IMDb user writing: "Absolutely loved this. Stellar writing from Cooper as always. In terms of British TV, I think this show really pushes the envelope."

Another added: "League of Gentlemen meets Motherland. Perfect for This Country fans," while a third declared: "Brilliant TV, the perfect 10/10." Someone else commented: "Fantastic, gripping piece of television. Better than Motherland in my opinion!"

A fifth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: "At last we see Daisy May Cooper at I believe her best! Interesting, funny, powerful, moving emotional, and also hilarious! It has little hidden gems of humour in this. Jaw-droppingly good."
