The Good Doctor and House creator has a “mysterious” legal series in the works that Handmaid’s Tale fans won’t want to miss.
Based on the 2023 best-selling book of the same name by Jack Jordan, Conviction will be brought to life for the small screen for Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.
The adaptation has been written by David Shore, famed for his medical shows House with Hugh Laurie and The Good Doctor starring Freddie Highmore.
Conviction will star none other than The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss who also works as an executive producer on the show.
Apart from the dystopian hit series, Moss is also best known for Mad Men, Jordan Peele’s Us and The Invisible Man.

The official synopsis for Conviction reads: “Criminal Defense Attorney Neve Harper, a confident lawyer who finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire.
“But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal — or else risk her dark secrets being exposed.”
This won’t be the first time a novel of Jack Jordan will be adapted with his books Redemption and Deception now also in the works.
Conviction also marks the third Hulu series that Moss has been involved with following The Handmaid’s Tale and its upcoming sequel The Testaments which premieres on Wednesday, April 8.

The 43-year-old also recently starred in and produced the FX series The Veil and will once again be working in front and behind the camera for Apple TV drama Imperfect Women.
Both Jordan’s Conviction and Redemption books were long-listed for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
His other novels include 2015’s Anything For Her, 2016’s My Girl, 2018’s A Woman Scorned, as well as the 2022 thriller Do No Harm which was a Sunday Times best-seller.
Conviction will be available to watch on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.
