Grantchester's Leonard Finch star addresses fears of 'being fired' from ITV series
Grantchester actor Al Weaver opened up about his fears on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh

Grantchester star Al Weaver featured on Alan Titchmarsh's Love Your Weekend on Sunday to discuss the ITV series as it draws to a close.
Al, who portrays Leonard Finch, revealed to Alan his passion for playing a "troubled soul". He explained, "I mean, when we started, he was kind of just the comedy relief, along with Tessa and a couple of other people. It was kind of just all sorts of light stuff.
"But then it started going into his sort of personal life and his sexuality and all that sort of stuff, and then they just keep throwing everything at him, and it's great, because for me, every year we come back and we talk about it in the offseason and say, 'What can we do?'
"But again, you know, this year we find him, and he's really happy, as happy as he can be, and then he is dissatisfied, and then some else happens.
"And but for me, it's a great joy to just kind of navigate all those different things that we all experience," reports the Mirror.

Following a clip from Al's debut episode, in which he sported a moustache, the actor revealed his anxiety about potentially losing his position.
"I'd forgotten about the moustache," Alan remarked afterwards, to which Al responded, "We had all forgotten the moustache.
"Yeah, that lasted one episode," the actor chuckled as Alan enquired, "Did you have it when you went in, or did you grow it for it?"
As Al confirmed he cultivated the moustache for the script, he elaborated, "And it takes me a while to grow a moustache, and then you shave it off after a day.

"But I remember that was my first day, the first time I had met James [Norton] at the read-through, but that was our first scene together.
"And, they put the stuff on, did my hair, did the moustache, and I thought I was gonna get fired. Honestly, I was just like, I look ridiculous."
He continued, "I thought, 'This is it. I'm just gonna walk on set, and they'll be like, we've made a mistake."
Yet, contrary to his concerns, the Grantchester star revealed the producers at the time considered it "perfect".
Grantchester airs tonight at 9pm on ITV.
